About Center for Contextual Change
About Us
Known for our dynamic treatment of trauma, violence and the effects of abusive behaviors, we base our therapeutic process on a unique treatment, The Collaborative Stage Model (CSM). Co-created by Mary Jo Barrett, MSW, the founder of the Center for Contextual Change, CSM is a solution-focused, three-stage model aimed at facilitating change through collaboration between the client and therapist; the client will experience positive shifts in their internal, relational, and environmental worlds.
Who We Are
We are a group of nationally recognized, highly trained psychotherapists specializing in trauma, domestic and family violence, child and adult sexual abuse, addiction, compulsion, self-injurious behavior, and severe emotional and behavioral disorders. We work with couples, children, families and communities, and through school, church and professional referrals, DCFS and non-profits, and court appointed treatment.
Our Commitment
We treat all clients, regardless of economic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, survivor history or offending behaviors.
As Trainers and Consultants
Committed to the importance of sharing knowledge with the therapeutic community, we offer a comprehensive curriculum of professional trainings and consultations for mental health clinicians and educators. We also provide learning opportunities for schools, churches and other community organizations.
