Nancy Gardner, LCSW

Nancy Gardner holds a Masters of Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois and is a licensed clinical social worker with the State of Illinois. With over ten years of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Gardner has also worked with adolescents and adults with severe mental illness.

In addition to individual and group therapy expertise, Nancy works with individuals facing chronic illness, high-conflict divorce, and attachment issues. At CCC, Nancy also works with a variety of clients that include survivors of trauma, children and adults with sexually-acting-out behaviors, and clients with complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) who may benefit from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Offering individual and family therapy, Ms. Gardner leads support and education groups for non-offending parents of children who have been sexually abused. She conducts parent, child, and professional trainings such as "Understanding and Caring for the Sexually Abused Child", "Working with Families Surviving Sexual Abuse" and "Okay Touches and Not Okay Touches."

"I believe that the children and adults I work with hold within themselves resources and wisdom, just as they hold within themselves unique stories. The role of therapy is to provide a safe and nurturing place to understand each of these things as thoroughly as possible; to acknowledge and witness the patterns that prevent them from unfolding and to empower them with the strength, insight and tools to practice new skills and beliefs." — Nancy Gardner
