Viewing Traumatized Children through Neurological Lenses

This workshop is a "three hour tour" of how trauma affects children at every level of their functioning and what we, as professionals, need to be doing to foster healing. Participants will gain valuable information about how chronic, repeated trauma affects the developing brain and the various ways this can manifest in a child's intellectual, emotional and behavioral capacities.

The first half of the workshop will focus on understanding trauma neurologically. The second half will focus on how to effectively facilitate the healing process. Participants will learn a three-staged model of change and develop specific methods for working with traumatized children and their caregivers.
